Happy Fourth of July!!!

What is an outdoor party without good food, great weather and an awesome playlist? Following are a few songs someone might jam to at a Davis Square Lofts party.

“Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough” – the late, great Michael Jackson
“Proud Mary” – Tina Turner
“Mr. Brightside” – The Killers
“Live Your LIfe” – T.I. featuring Rihanna
“Hot N Cold” – Katy Perry
“Strawberry Swing” – Coldplay
“A Night in Tunisia” – Charlie Parker
“The Righteous Path” – Drive-By Truckers
“Girl” – Beck
“Sweet Home Alabama” – Lynyrd Skynyrd
“Nobody’s Baby” – Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings”
“Superstition” – Stevie Wonder
With so much to enjoy right here in Davis Square following are a few ways our residents are saving on gas money and making the most of summer.
Gardening
Having friends and neighbors over for a cookout.
Visiting local museums and famous landmarks.
Picking fruit and veggies at a local farm followed by a picnic.
Lay out a blanket or sleeping bag and take in the night sky.
Organizing and cleaning – seriously the results can be so satisfying!
Reading at home, the library, in the park or at a local cafe.
Arranging a day at the spa.
Thank you to Stuff Magazine and their publisher the Boston Phoenix for featuring Davis Square Lofts in the recent Food issue.

One of the benefits to having your own outdoor area? Grilling! At Davis Square Lofts residents can host backyard or deck parties depending on their space. Here’s how we recommend you do it:
1. Provide plenty to drink (lemonade, iced tea and fun cocktails)
2. Invite friends and neighbors to bring the sides and dessert.
3. Get the flame going and throw on some steak, fish and veggies.
4. Enjoy an evening with friends on a budget.

One of our community members recently hosted a chocolate tasting with her friends Kate and Steve of Black Dinah Chocolatiers. Hand-crafted and made with the tastiest, freshest ingredients we had a sweet time learning bite by bite the difference between French and Belgian truffles. Thus it was with great joy we learned the editors at Gourmet Magazine decided to write about these beautiful little nuggets.

Residents of Davis Square Lofts may have different interests. First there is the array of football teams we covet from the Chicago Bears to the New York Jets. Then what we do in our spare time ranges from knitting or gardening to cheering for the Red Sox and taking language classes. Finally the pendulum of cooking talents and diets (gluten free, vegetarian, hard core carnivores). What we all enjoy and truly appreciate is the significant amount of outdoor living space, the awesome Ewok village style skywalk system, and the quality of the brick and wood work.
A photo essay of the lofts so you can see what we are talking about.
